The LGC Fly Tying and Fishing Workshop is a combination of an all-day fly tying class and a nymph, dry or streamer workshop. We will also be offering these new workshops for stillwater.
Combining a fly tying class and a fishing workshop together has not been done in California. Many of our guests have asked for this class, so LGC has answered. These LGC Fly Tying and Fishing Workshops are designed for the beginner to intermediate tyer and fly fisher. They are a two day workshop that will be held at the Gray Cabin at Lake Almanor. The first day will be the fly tying day. LGC will supply all the materials for the workshop. The second day is the fishing day. We will fish the freshly tied flies we tied the day before. The fishing day is on the water fishing, going over rigging and tactics.
We have equipment for our guests to use – but if you can bring your own fly tying and fly fishing equipment, please do so.
The fly tying and fishing days will both be eight hours. We will have plenty of time to work on skills both at the vise and on the water. The Fly Tying and Fishing Workshop will come with a tying handout and a fishing handout.
