Baum Lake is one of the greatest fly fishing venue in Northern California. The lake is a giant spring creek that opens up to large deep pools with deep channels meandering throughout the lake. The lake is open all year long and only gets better and better into the winter months. In fact, January and February are top fishing months for the lake.
The fish are stocked regularly by the California Department of Fish & Wildlife and it doesnít hurt that there is a fish hatchery on the lake itself. Rainbows and brown Trout are in the lake with many hold overs surviving to become very large fish. Donít let this lake fool you Ė the fish can become very picking, down right stubborn at times demanding that the angler is using his or hersí top skills.
Anglers wishing to fish this fishery will be treated to great fishing from the luxury of the driftboat. We also conduct a tour at the lake with workshops and schools.
